AN EXTRAORDINARY GARDEN
On the edge of a Champagne-producing village, this 14th-century house (originally a water mill) opens onto a unique garden. Walk barefoot by the waterfall, explore a mysterious tower, collect fossils in the stream bed and admire Guilhem’s collection of ancient coins he found himself. Your hosts offer a warm welcome and will give you a souvenir photo taken in front of the waterfall. In fall/winter or bad weather, try your hand at making crêpes.

3pm, departure from Charly-sur-Marne. Back to Paris (1hr30min) or direct train ride (49 min, see info above).

You can either choose the "Transportation included" option (pick up at your hotel by our driver, mid-range car or van), OR get there by your own means. The precise address in the village of Charly-sur-Marne will be provided after booking: 1. Use UBER or UBER RESERVE (up to 90 days in advance) to book your ride there and back (expect 130 euros one way for 4 people). If you do not book, you might not be able to find any available UBER driver nearby. 2. RENT A CAR: expect 150 euros for a mid-range car for 2 days.
The romantic option - TAKE A DIRECT LOCAL TRAIN from Paris (49 min): At Gare de l'Est (Paris East railway station), buy a RER ticket valid up to Nanteuil-Saâcy station, 2.5 euros, direct train. Ideally, buy round-trip tickets. No need to buy in advance. Suggested departures: 9:17am or 9:49am (every day). At Nanteuil-Saâcy station, call a Uber or taxi (about 10+ euros, 10 min drive to your hosts' place).
