The Hog Islands and/or Cayos Cochinos are a UNESCO heritage site and a national and marine park protected by the Honduran government. It has some of the most unique coral formations and world class turquoise waters anywhere in the entire western hemisphere and Caribbean. The island is also home to many local families and Garifuna people who have inhabited these tiny islands for many generations.
