As we explore the forest, we’ll identify seasonal berries and mushrooms, learning how to safely recognize edible varieties. Depending on the time of year, we may find juicy bilberries, tart lingonberries, rare cloudberries, aromatic cranberries, crowberries, and wild blueberries. We’ll also look for golden chanterelles, porcini, and other wild mushrooms. Since each has its own season, every outing is a little different throughout the summer and autumn.
Our guide will share useful knowledge about traditional uses, nutritional benefits, and preservation methods, offering insight into Lapland’s food traditions. You’ll also receive recipes and preparation tips, so you can bring the taste of Lapland into your own kitchen.
With baskets in hand, we’ll collect nature’s offerings while enjoying the peaceful surroundings of Lapland’s forests. During the tour, we’ll pause to enjoy handmade seasonal snacks prepared by us using fresh berries or mushrooms, depending on what nature provides. These will be served with a refreshing berry smoothie or a warm cup of tea.
By the end of the tour, you’ll leave with more than just a basket of fresh ingredients—you’ll take home practical skills, local knowledge, and a stronger connection to Lapland’s natural landscape.
