Detailed itinerary

At 8:50 am, our guide English Speaking guide will meet you in front of Lyon Office de Tourisme building main entrance door located on Bellecour Square (50 m opposite Le Royal Hotel). After a short walk, participants will get on the 8 seaters minivan to begin the excursion.

Start the morning, exploring Beaujolais considered as France's prettiest wine region and discover the unknown beauty of the Golden Stones Country. Stop in Châtillon d'Azergues town to admire the 13th century castles surrounded by its remparts walls.

Then cross several medieval towns built in ochre-coloured stones including Chessy Les Mines and Bagnols towns.
Visit the lovely picturesque village of Oingt listed among the 157 most beautiful towins in France. Walk the main street, visit Saint Mathieu church and enjoy panoramic views of stunning landscapes with rolling hills dotted with vineyards.

Push the door of a family winery and immerse yourself in history, "terroir" and tradition meeting the winemaker himself.

Enjoy a private vineyards inspection, learn about the wine making process and wine taste several Beaujolais including white, rosé and red wines in a friendly atmosphere.

At lunch, delight yourself with a delicious meal in a typical Beaujolais "bistrot" restaurant which serves regional cuisine. Our guide will be happy to translate and explain all the different courses for you ! Menus from € 20 / person, NOT included.

In the afterrnoon, after a 45 minutes driver, discover Pérouges medieval town, a "must see" attraction which makes you travel back to the middle age times!

Walk along cobblestone streets and appreciate the achitecture of ancient houses from the XIII to the XVI century.

Learn about french History as you discover this unique setting used several times for background films including the 3 Musketeers.

Finally enjoy 30 minutes of free time : stroll through little craft souvenirs shops or try the local speciality pancake called "galette" (not included in the tour).

At 5:15 pm, our guide will drive you back to Lyon and drop off at Bellecour Square in front of Lyon Office de Tourisme.

Tour departure is at 9:00 am from the building of Lyon Office de Tourisme located on Bellecour Square (50 metres in front of Le Royal Hotel). Customers must join the Meeting Point 10 minutes before tour departure that is at 8:50 am. To access Bellecour Square, you can take Metro Line A or D - Station Place Bellecour or a Bus.
