Start your evening with a self-guided visit to the breathtaking Butchart Gardens Magic of Christmas, where the grounds come alive with over 300,000 twinkling lights. Spend about one hour exploring glowing pathways and enjoying the charming 12 Days of Christmas displays. This year, the popular outdoor skating rink returns—book your session in person at the Information Centre. Skate rentals are available on a first-come basis for a fee, and both admissions and rentals are extra. You may also catch festive brass performances or traditional carollers during your visit.
This magical, once-a-year transformation offers perfect photo opportunities and unforgettable holiday moments. The Magic of Christmas runs from December 1 to January 6, 2026, and is closed on Christmas Day. Garden hours are 3pm–9pm, with viewing permitted until 10pm.
Experience the enchanting Lights of Wonder at Centennial Square, a walk-through holiday light village filled with glowing tunnels, sparkling displays, and festive music. Thousands of dazzling lights create a magical atmosphere perfect for photos and unforgettable holiday moments. The event begins November 29 at 4pm and continues nightly through New Year’s Eve.
This year, the popular Ferris wheel returns from December 19 to 31. Rides are free, with donations gratefully accepted.
