Live an exclusive experience that unites art, history and mystery, revealing the hidden heart of the eternal city. Don’t miss the chance to explore Rome like never before!
The tour begins in the surroundings of one of the most emblematic places in Rome: the Trevi Fountain. In front of this majestic Baroque scenery, we will take a moment to admire the details sculpted on the stone, hear the history of the fountain and discover the legends related to the traditional coin thrown into the water. Designed by Nicola Salvi and completed in 1762, the fountain represents the triumph of water, framed by the imposing figure of Ocean, seahorses, newts and mythological symbols.
After soaking in the magic of the fountain, we will take only a few steps to travel back in time, under the streets of the historic center, to a lesser-known but fascinating place: the Vicus Caprarius, also called The City of Water.
From here, we will walk to the nearby Vicus Caprarius, known as The City of Water. This underground archaeological site offers the opportunity to explore an ancient Roman domus and its large cisterns, through which water still circulates from the Virgin Aqueduct, the same that feeds the Trevi Fountain.
During the visit, you will learn how the Romans managed water for domestic and ornamental use, and discover the advanced hydraulic engineering that allowed Rome to remain as the “City of Water” for centuries.
This tour is a unique experience that connects Rome’s visible magnificence with its hidden history underground, showing how past and present intertwine in the eternal city.
