You meet your licensed tour guide at the main entrance of the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, where the tour begins with a short introduction to Crete’s history and the importance of the museum. The guided visit focuses on the most important highlights of the Minoan civilization, from early settlements to later historical periods, explained clearly and in context.
After completing the museum visit, you continue on foot with your guide, walking along the nearby Venetian Walls and into the historic center of Heraklion. The walking tour includes key landmarks such as the Rimondi Fountain, the Venetian Loggia, and the Church of Agios Titos, illustrating the city’s Venetian and later history.
The tour ends in the city center. Upon request, the guide can recommend a local traditional taverna for lunch (optional and not included).
