Detailed itinerary

1

Created in the 1990s, this small garden was once the site of the Capuchin convent, between the 16th and 18th centuries, and then the courtyard of the Tribunal until the Second World War.

2

The beautiful façade that adorns the street on your left belongs to the Church of San Sebastian, originally built in the 15th century as a chapel that was redesigned and expanded during the 18th century to become this building in flamboyant Gothic style.

3

This small square on Thérèse Léon Blum Square is a tribute to this statesman who was strongly Committed to the implementation of the socialist reforms that appeared in the 1930s

4

On this street, there are several private Inns, including the Brigade Inn at number 12 and the Benavent Inn at number 7.

5

In the street on your left, rue Rouget de l’Isle, is the entrance to the Horreum, a monument dating from the 1st century BC. C. A Horreum, in Roman times, was a warehouse where all kinds of goods, grain, wine, or clothes were stored.

6

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Robine Canal offers beautiful walks or bike rides, especially in the city centre of Narbonne where it allows you to escape the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.

7

Here, from the Pont des Barques, the famous Pont des Marchands is unveiled in front of you!

8

Let’s go for a little glimpse of the specialties of Narbonnais!

9

It is impossible not to enjoy strolling on the Cours Mirabeau, which runs along the Robine Canal on its right bank.

10

Here you are in front of a beautiful example of Languedoc Gothic architecture.

11

In the heart of the houses of the Bourg district, we see here the facade of the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce church.

12

Here you are in front of a very special house, on your right.

13

Here is the Basilica of Saint Paul, one of the oldest churches in the South, and the first Gothic church built in Narbonne.

14

We are here in the Bourg district, located on the right bank of the Robine Canal that separates the city of Narbonne in two.

15

It’s hard to see it here, but you’re currently in the middle of a bridge that crosses the Robine Canal!

16

Here, the Place de l’Inn de Ville has something to make you feel full of it. And the palace of the Archbishops, which is in front of you, is not for nothing!

17

Here you are in front of a precious vestige of the Gallo-Roman era. Opposite the Archbishops’ Palace, in the heart of the Town Inn Square, is a piece of Via Domitia, a Roman road built from 118 BC. C.

18

On your right, the Archdiocesan Garden offers an exceptional setting to take a break and relax in the heart of the city.

19

Although located in the south of France, this impressive cathedral has everything from a northern cathedral.

20

The building on your left is the Palace of Sports, Arts and Labour, and if I stop you here, it is because it is one of the few testimonies in Languedoc-Roussillon of functionalist and rationalist architecture.
