Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1 Pass by

To your right, you have a perfect view of St. Peter’s Church in Vienna beautifully framed by its splendid facades of buildings.

2

You don't have to waltz to get a spin in Vienna. Here, at the corner of Graben and Kohlmarkt Street, we don’t know where to head because the architecture around us spills over everywhere.

3
Stop 3 Pass by

There’s definitely a queue in front of the beautiful central café, and that’s normal. This place is a real institution in Vienna. Some even say it is the most beautiful coffee on the planet.

4
Stop 4 Pass by

Here you are, in front of the majestic Burgtheater. Given its style, you can imagine that this is an important theatre!

5
Stop 5 Pass by

Opposite the theater, this is the beautiful Vienna City Inn. We feel caught in the middle of a beauty contest between Viennese monuments.

6

Here you are in front of a new rather imposing building, the Austrian Parliament. Recognizable between a thousand in its neoclassical style, inspired by Greek architecture, the parliament is one of the most remarkable monuments of the Ring.

7
Stop 7 Pass by

So, I grant you, in this neighborhood, and it must be admitted, in Vienna in general, not 5 minutes goes by without coming across a mega-monument.

8
Stop 8 Pass by

Here you are, like Marie-Thérèse, well surrounded by its two twin palaces housing respectively the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Fine Arts.

9

You now arrive at Heldenplatz, the historic Heroes’ Square. Until the 19th century, this space was part of the Vienna compound and there was an important bastion that protected the Hofburg.

10
Stop 10 Pass by

Here you are in the main courtyard of the Hofburg. On your right, the door of the Swiss, in the colors red and black. It takes its name from the Swiss guards who guarded it in the 16th century.

11

Here you are on what is considered the most beautiful square in the city, Michaelerplatz. This baroque square built at the end of the 19th century took the name of the church of Saint-Michel, given in the 13th century to serve as a parish church for the servants of the court.

12
Stop 12 Pass by

You pass on your left, the merry-go-round of the Spanish Riding School of Vienna installed just opposite in one of the wings of the palace. This prestigious riding school is the only one in the world that has cultivated, since the Renaissance, the classical equestrian art of the Haute-Ecole.

13
Stop 13 Pass by

You see this little church pretty sober on your right? It contains the crypt of the Capuchins. The Baroque church was built between 1622 and 1632 and has since housed the tombs of members of the Habsburg dynasty, including those of 12 emperors and 19 empresses.

14

Here you are in Albertina Square opposite the Art Museum of the same name. Housed in the former palace of Archduke Albert, this museum presents the richest collection of graphic art in the world.

15

Just a word about this monumental fountain that you see at the tip of the museum under the equestrian statue of François Joseph. It is entitled Albert Fountain or Danube Fountain.

16
Stop 16 Pass by

Here you are in front of one of the city’s landmarks, the Vienna Opera. As you probably already know, it is one of the largest and one of the best operas in the world, with exceptionally high levels of programming and which change every day!

17
Stop 17 Pass by

Here you are between two buildings dedicated to art and music. To your left, the Musikverein, the home of the Vienna Music Union.

18
Stop 18 Pass by

You're looking at a real picture. The Church of St. Charles of Vienna stands behind the fountain, a beautiful emblematic image of Vienna. You don’t need to love churches to admit that it is really beautiful with its dome and twisted columns.

19
Stop 19 Pass by

You're here in Schwarzenberg Square. You are at the site of the old city walls of Vienna. When they were destroyed, we took advantage of the open space to build several beautiful buildings that you see all around and to create this small square.

20
Stop 20 Pass by

To your right, the Vienna Konzerthaus. This Austrian music room, inaugurated in 1913, has juggled tradition and innovation since its beginning.

21

You are now in one of the oldest parks in Vienna, the Stadtpark. Viennese have loved it since 1862, certainly for its English gardens, the richness of its plant variety as well as for the river Wien which crosses it, thus offering many small bridges.

22
Stop 22 Pass by

To your right, the beautiful red neo-renaissance palace is the Vienna MAK. The Museum of Applied Arts.

23
Stop 23 Pass by

Yes, it throws this little place with its beautiful church and the magnificent Academy of Sciences of Vienna!! The Baroque church that stands before you is the Jesuiten Kirch, as you understand, it is the Jesuit Church in Vienna.

24
Stop 24 Pass by

You now pass the Mozart Museum House. He lived in a dozen houses in Vienna, but it is the only one that has been preserved and transformed into a museum.

25
Stop 25 Pass by

This is the highlight of the show, the sublime Saint-Étienne Cathedral. Its German name is Stephansdom, but the locals affectionately call it Steffel which means little Stephan.

26

You walk up the luxurious Graben pedestrian street. Elegant and refined, lined with beautiful shops, ice cream parlours and cafés well housed in historic buildings, it is the main shopping artery of the Austrian capital.
