Starting and ending at the Old Market Square, this roughly circular route takes you past iconic landmarks including the Park Tunnel and historic Nottingham Castle. You'll uncover a pub uniquely carved into a cliff face and explore a mysterious sandstone tunnel deep beneath the city streets.

Nottingham is famed for its subterranean wonders, expect descents into underground features, including steps and a large tunnel to walk through.

It was once Europe’s largest public square. It’s still the biggest market square in England.

The Sky Mirror is the work of artist Sir Anish Kapoor, the sculptor behind Chicago’s Cloud Gate, which is often referred to as “The Bean”.

In 1875, the building was renovated and turned into a Museum of Fine Art, and in World War II it was used as a lookout, munitions store and even allotments tended to by Italian prisoners of war.

The site of Broadmarsh was Nottingham’s old shopping centre.

It’s thought that this is one of the oldest parts of the city, dating back to the 5th century.

In the 1920s, plans were drawn for a new Council House. The building was expected to cost £500,000, which was a lot of money, particularly during a time of recession.
