Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

The Hawa Mahal, or "Palace of the Winds," is an iconic five-storey palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Built: In 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh.

Purpose: Its unique design allowed the royal women to observe daily life and processions on the street below, remaining unseen due to the strict purdah system.

Architecture: It is famous for its striking, towering facade of red and pink sandstone, which resembles a honeycomb or the crown of Lord Krishna.

Windows: The facade is covered with 953 small, intricately carved windows called jharokhas. These windows allowed cool air ("Hawa" or wind) to circulate through the interior, making it a natural air-conditioner.

It stands as a brilliant architectural fusion of Rajput and Mughal styles and is a cherished landmark of the "Pink City."

2
Stop 2

The City Palace is a magnificent palace complex located in the heart of Jaipur, built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II beginning in 1729.

It is a stunning example of Rajput, Mughal, and European architectural fusion. The complex consists of a series of courtyards, gardens, and buildings, notably the Chandra Mahal (which is still a private royal residence) and the Mubarak Mahal (now a museum displaying royal costumes and artifacts).

It served as the ceremonial and administrative seat of the Maharajas of Jaipur and continues to be the home of the current royal family. Its ornate gateways, like the famous Pritam Niwas Chowk with its four season-themed gates, make it a key landmark and a must-visit in the Pink City.

3
Stop 3

The Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an extraordinary astronomical observatory built in the early 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II.

It features a collection of approximately 20 fixed, monumental masonry instruments designed for observing celestial positions with the naked eye. Its most famous instrument is the Vrihat Samrat Yantra, which is the world's largest stone sundial, capable of measuring time with impressive accuracy.

The site is considered the largest and best-preserved of the historic observatories built in India by Jai Singh II, showcasing the advanced astronomical skills and architectural genius of the Rajput era.

5

Amer, formerly known as the capital of the state before Jaipur, holds a rich history. Built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh, this old fort is now popularly referred to as Amer Palace and Fort. Made with red sandstone and marble, it exudes grandeur and is enhanced by the presence of Maotha Lake nearby. The combination creates a charming ambiance that adds to its allure.

6

Panna Meena ka Kund is a beautifully preserved ancient stepwell (bawri) located in Amer, near Jaipur, Rajasthan.

It is renowned for its stunning, symmetrical staircases that crisscross and descend to the water level, creating intricate patterns from every angle. This architectural marvel was not only a source of water but also a community gathering place and a cool retreat during the hot summer months.

7
Stop 7

The Royal Gaitor Tumbas, also known as Gaitore Ki Chhatriyan, is the royal crematorium ground for the Kachwaha Rajput rulers of Jaipur.

The Royal Gaitor Tumbas is a serene complex of beautifully carved marble and sandstone cenotaphs (umbrella-shaped memorials called chhatris) located in the foothills of Nahargarh Fort in Jaipur. It serves as the memorial site for many of Jaipur's Maharajas, most notably Sawai Jai Singh II, the city's founder, whose cenotaph is the most exquisitely carved. The architecture is a stunning blend of Rajput and Mughal styles, offering a peaceful, less-crowded historical retreat.

8

Jal Mahal (meaning "Water Palace") is a magnificent palace that appears to float in the middle of Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

This five-story structure, primarily built from pink sandstone, is an architectural marvel blending Rajput and Mughal styles. When the lake is full, four of its stories remain submerged, leaving only the top floor visible above the water line. Originally constructed in the 18th century as a hunting lodge, it is now a peaceful and highly photographed tourist spot, especially beautiful at sunset when its reflection shimmers on the tranquil lake
