Built in 131 AD, this impressive marble gateway marked the boundary between the old city of Athens and the new Roman quarter. It was dedicated to Emperor Hadrian, who was a great admirer of Greek culture. Standing beneath it, you’ll feel the blend of two worlds—ancient Greek tradition and Roman grandeur.
