About this experience

Just one hour from central Tokyo, escape the hustle and bustle of the city and discover a serene world of shrine and temple and a historic pilgrimage trail.
Oyama Afuri Shrine has been deeply revered for centuries. During the Edo period (1603–1868), it flourished as one of Japan’s most popular pilgrimage destinations.
For lunch, savor a delicious ramen made with locally sourced ingredients at a charming restaurant renovated from a former pilgrim’s lodge.
In the afternoon, we take another local bus to visit Hinata Yakushi Temple, a sacred site with over 1,200 years of history. The temple houses revered Buddha statues designated as Important Cultural Properties of Japan.
Finally, we return to Isehara Station, where the tour comes to a close, leaving you with lasting memories of Kanagawa’s spiritual heritage and natural beauty.

We will walk around the power spots located within the grounds of Oyama Afuri Shrine (Lower Shrine) together with your guide.
During the tour, you will learn about the traditions and culture that have been passed down and continue to live on in modern Japan.

We visit one of Japan's most revered Yakushi (Medicine Buddha) Temple which has been worshipped by people for centuries. Numerous variable Buddhist sculptures remain on site, including wooden statue of Yakushi and his attendants.

What's not included
