Tiraspol - Back in USSR soviet experience

Meet and greet in Chișinău, we will pick you up directly from your location and depart east toward Tiraspol, crossing the Dniester River into the self-declared region of Transnistria. During the drive, your guide will introduce Moldova’s history and explain the political and cultural background of Transnistria.

A brief stop will be made at the checkpoint to complete entry formalities. This is a routine process, and your guide will assist you throughout.

Visit the Christmas Cathedral, one of the most important religious sites in Tiraspol. Learn about the role of the Orthodox Church in Transnistria and how religion and Soviet heritage coexist in the region today.

Arrive in Tiraspol and begin the walking tour at Suvorov Square, the city’s main square, dominated by the statue of General Alexander Suvorov. Walk along the central boulevard and experience the distinctive Soviet-era architecture, monuments, and symbols that define the city.

See the House of Soviets, home to the local government, and one of Europe’s best-preserved Lenin statues. Your guide will explain Transnistria’s continued Soviet identity and its unique political status.

Visit Tiraspol’s Green Market, the city’s main local market. Experience everyday life as locals shop for fresh produce, homemade goods, and regional products. Free time for photos, browsing, and small purchases.

Stop at the T-34 tank memorial dedicated to World War II. Learn about the region’s wartime history and why these memorials remain central to local identity.

Travel to Bendery to visit the historic Bendery Fortress, originally built in the 16th century by the Ottoman Empire. Explore the fortress grounds and learn about its strategic importance, as well as its role in regional conflicts, including the 1992 Transnistrian War.

Depart Bendery/Tiraspol and return to Chișinău, arriving at your original meeting point.
