Detailed itinerary

1

Meet your guide at Undredal dock for a gentle uphill hike to Melhus summer farm (seter). Along the route you’ll enjoy breathtaking views over Aurlandsfjord and the surrounding mountains. We cross meadows and woodland before arriving at the valley and river where the goats graze. Sit with the goats for a guided cheese tasting of our local goat cheeses — weather permitting we taste outdoors; in poor weather we move inside a traditional seter. When finished, we return on foot to Undredal.

2

Undredal Stave Church Visit — 1147 Historic Church & Guided Storytelling

After the hike you’ll return to Undredal and visit the village’s tiny stave church, built in 1147 and still in active use. Inside this beautiful and unique wooden church your local guide will tell the fascinating 900‑year story — from Viking influences to later restorations — revealing details and hidden treasures most visitors miss.
A peaceful moment to reflect and absorb the village’s living history.
