Dating back to 1917, the temple was created by Japanese immigrants seeking a place for spiritual practice.

Its simple, harmonious design can be seen in every corner, making it a beloved place for visitors to slow down and explore Japanese Zen aesthetics.

Surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills, the lake is named after its resemblance to a carp. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities at Liyu Lake at their own expenses, including boating, paddle boating, and cycling around the lake.

The Starbucks Promiseland Branch in Hualien is situated next to a pond, reflecting the beautiful scenery of its surroundings.
