Explore Tangier, Morocco's enchanting "Gateway to Africa," on a captivating coastal and cultural adventure designed for cruise guests. Begin your tour by meeting your local guide and enjoying a scenic drive through the charming neighborhoods of Tangier, where Europe meets Africa across the Strait of Gibraltar. Visit Cap Spartel for panoramic ocean views and the iconic lighthouse, stroll along Achakkar Beach, or opt for a camel ride. Discover the legendary Caves of Hercules, explore the Kasbah fortress, and wander through the vibrant Old Medina, immersing yourself in local culture. Relish a chance to savor traditional Moroccan cuisine during your free time before returning to your ship with unforgettable memories.
Meet your friendly local guide and driver right at the port, then set off on a scenic coastal journey through Tangier’s charming neighborhoods, where Europe and Africa almost touch across the sparkling Strait of Gibraltar.
Your first stop is Cap Spartel, the breathtaking point where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. See the iconic lighthouse from the outside, stroll through fragrant pine forests, and soak in unforgettable panoramic views of the rugged Moroccan coast.
Continue to Achakkar Beach, known for its golden sands and gentle waves. Feel the ocean breeze as you walk along the shore, or enjoy an optional camel ride for that picture-perfect Moroccan experience!
Please note that the optional camel ride lasts around 30 minutes, costs approximately 20 EUR (or 210 Dirhams), and can only be paid for on site in cash.
Guests who choose not to participate in the camel ride may take a pleasant walk along the seaside or through the forest, explore the nearby caves, or simply relax and capture some memorable photos.
Next, explore the Caves of Hercules, a natural wonder full of legends. Check out the famous sea opening shaped like the map of Africa and the amazing rock formations carved by the waves over time — it’s one of Tangier’s must-see spots!
Dive into Tangier’s soul as you see the Kasbah fortress from the outside and explore the Old Medina, a lively maze of narrow streets, colorful markets, and Arab-Andalusian architecture. Meet local artisans, discover hidden riads, and enjoy stunning views of the Strait of Gibraltar from secret terraces.
Enjoy at least an hour of free time over a traditional Moroccan lunch (optional, at your own expense) at one of the charming restaurants in the Medina. Try fragrant tagines, fluffy couscous, and refreshing mint tea — a perfect cultural and culinary finale.
After a day filled with scenic beauty, warm hospitality, and cultural discovery, your guide and driver will escort you comfortably back to your ship — with wonderful memories (and photos!) of Tangier’s unique charm.
