The more than 100.000 items in the museum include some 1.700 artefacts from the tomb of Tutankhamun, including the solid gold mask that covered the pharaoh’s head. Close to the pyramids area never miss seeing The Sphinx which is situated at the Giza Plateau adjacent to the Pyramids of Giza on the West Bank of the Nile River. It is the largest monolith statue in the world. The Sphinx is an immense stone sculpture of a creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human. It is also the oldest monumental sculpture and it is commonly believed to have been built by Khafre.
