Our tour will begin when our guides pick you up at the meeting point early in the morning to arrive as soon as possible at the Lakes of Covadonga and make the most of the day.
We will stop at the Mirador de Entrelagos and enjoy the wonderful views of Lake Ercina and Lake Enol. Our guide will make the experience complete by explaining the history of Spain’s first national park. Then we will continue until we reach the Basilica of Covadonga, a truly impressive building.
We will also see the Cave of the Virgin of Covadonga or the Cave, where the carving of La Santina is located. Then we will stop for lunch in Cangas de Onís, to taste typical Asturian dishes or enjoy the city at your leisure.
We will have panoramic views from the bus to the beaches of La Espasa, La Isla and La Griega. Finally, we will make a stop in Lastres, where we can contemplate the town and its imposing viewpoint.
The Covadonga Natural Park was the first National Park in Spain and, in 1995, it was changed to the Picos de Europa National Park and biosphere reserve.
The Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Covadonga is a must-see stop on our tour. We will also talk about The Bell that weighs 5,000 kilos and the crypt. Oh! And from the Obelisk where they say Pelayus was proclaimed King. Get ready to hear the most interesting stories!
Cangas de Onís, His bridge with the Victory Cross hanging from its arch is a symbol of the council. You will also be very struck by the church tower with its 33 meters and 6 bells on 3 floors. Free time! Take the opportunity to discover, get lost in its streets or try the famous Asturian gastronomy. A puppy with pots? And of course, don’t leave without “spouting an ass.”
Bordering the Asturian coast, we will get panoramic views of the beaches of La Espasa, La Isla and La Griega, indispensable on the Asturian coast. Finally, we will then stop in Lastres, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, where we will enjoy the charm of the place and its impressive viewpoint aloft. The views are simply spectacular!
