We pick up you in your Marrakech hotel or riad and after one-hour by private vehicle journey we reach Imlil village, where you will meet the muleteer team who will transport your bags to the resort.
We begin the ascent to the shelter by following the canals that irrigate the terraced crops. After a short rest in the small settlement of Sidi Chamarouch.
Sidi Chamarouch (and marabout), the mountain becomes increasingly parched, with only the bleatings of goats and sheep guarded by young shepherds accompanying your stroll. We arrive at the Toubkal refuge, 3210 m.
We continue our trek and we reach the summit of Jebel Toukbal, Northern Africa's highest peak. Our path leads us up the south cirque, where we cross the brook above the refuge.
The walking is quite easy, but the screen and the altitude will make it challenging in places. The scenery along the way makes the trip more than worthwhile. When you reach the summit, you will be rewarded with amazing views of the surrounding region. There are unrestricted views in every direction from here, from the Marrakesh Plain to the High Atlas in the north to the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara in the south.
When we return down to the refuge for lunch, we'll retrace our tracks and then continue back towards Imlil. The elevation difference between the refuge and Toubkal summit is 960 meters.
Then we transfer you to Marrakech where our trek finishes.
