It will take us about 1.5 hours drive to reach the Visitor Center in San Vicente Pacaya, where your adventure begins. We'll start your hike at approximately 1,900 meters (6,300 feet) above sea level. The trail has some steep sections, but we'll take it at a relaxed pace, with plenty of stops to rest, enjoy the scenery, and breathe in the fresh mountain air. Depending on your pace, the ascent may take 1.5 to 2.5 hours, remember there's no rush, it's not a race! The effort will be well worth it when we reach the closest point to the crater.
At the summit, we wil have your time to absorb the unique energy of this living volcano. Surrounded by panoramic views and the raw beauty of cooled lava fields, you'll feel just how alive and majestic nature can be. We'll spend about an hour here, enjoying both the scenery and a Delicious volcano-cooked picnic before beginning your descent.
