The 2026 CAD Khom Loy Sky Lantern Festival—highlight of Chiang Mai’s Yi Peng celebrations. It takes place on November 24-25, 2026 at the government-certified CAD Cultural Center Lanna in Mae On District.
With over 25,000 attendees per night (a 20% rise from 2025), it’s Thailand’s largest organized sky lantern event. We have been official partners since 2018.
There are six types of tickets for the 2026 Chiang Mai CAD Khomloy Sky Lantern Festival, with varying prices and service levels: Standard, VIP, Premium, Gold, Platinum, and Elite.
Key highlights include:
Traditional Lanna experiences: market stalls, tribal displays, and workshops (pottery, weaving, local cooking).
Muay Thai demos, folk dances, and live music.
A Lanna buffet dinner (with vegetarian options) before sunset.
Monk-led rituals and candlelit ceremonies at the Great Pagoda.
Synchronized release of 25,000 biodegradable lanterns, followed by a 20-minute fireworks show (each guest gets 2 sky lanterns and 1 water lantern).

1:00 PM - 4:00 PM – Shuttle to Venue
Shuttles depart every 5 minutes for the CAD Venue.
The last shuttle leaves at 4:00 PM.
2:30 PM - 5:30 PM – Arrival & Activities
Enjoy free time to explore the craft zone, cultural village, Loy Krathong activity, and snacks.
5:30 PM - 7:00 PM – Dinner
A delicious Lanna-style Thai buffet dinner with desserts and non-alcoholic drinks is served.
7:00 PM - 7:40 PM– Process to Pagoda seating area and enjoy the evening's program.
8:15 PM – Lantern Launch & Fireworks
This is followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
8:45 PM – Return to City
Board the shuttles back to Chiang Mai. Drop-off point: Maya Shopping Mall/Chiang Mai Night Bazaar (Pantip Intersection)/Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Present your e-ticket to hop on the shuttle to the venue. Shuttles operate every 10 minutes from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the last shuttle departing at 3:00 p.m.
When you arrive at the venue, locate the entrance corresponding to the color of your seat on your ticket, queue up, and scan the QR code to redeem a hanging badge to enter.
