Animated crib several local volunteers are in the final-touches stage for the TENTH EDITION of Bethlehem f’Għajnsielem, the event that has enchanted thousands of visitors over the past two years. The nativity village is situated adjacent to the Għajnsielem main square, on the island of Gozo, just 5 minutes by walk from Mgarr Harbour. Appropriately called “Bethlehem f’Għajnsielem”, this life-size crib, constructed on 20,000 square metre (sqm) of fields on a stretch of land known as Ta’ Passi, comes to life during the month of December with about 150 actors taking visitors back in time to Judea of 2000 years ago. The atmosphere will simply be unique horses turn mills, villagers go about their jobs, shepherds inhabit caves, animals roam in enclosed spaces and a poor unknown couple tend their newly-born in a grotto
Christmas related items from the different stalls set up around the lower end of Villa Rundle gardens, nearest to Republic Street. Each stall is manned by a local voluntary organisation that provides services of a social nature to those living on Gozo. Proceeds from each stall will therefore go towards the organisation being promoted.
Items on offer from the various stalls include food, drinks, sweets, Christmas decorations, plants and flowers, and traditional pasturi. Entertainment throughout the different days is provided together with the presence of Father Christmas, the showing of different Christmas-related videos, storytelling sessions and a Christmas crib corner.
The Gozo Cittadella is often visited during daytime, when its museums, the interpretation centre and the magnificent Catheral are open for the public. However, we feel that this site is also worthy of a night visit and, unfortunately, many tourists tend to give a night walk at the Cittadella a miss.
First things first, the Gozo Citadel is magnificently lit and this gives photo enthusiasts countless of photo opportunities that will impress your social media followers or friends back at home. Once inside the Cittadella, you’ll feel a sense of peace and tranquillity especially since it’s barely visited at night. The quietness is only disturbed by the rustling of the wind, the church bells, or a curious cat coming to say hi.
On this tour since we have to follow the opening hours according to the Visit Gozo program, The crib and market stops are according to Visit Gozo program.
We pick up all travellers from out pick up locations.
Clients who would like to come on their own are asked to be near Labranda Riviera at 14.55hrs.
