The fun already starts when your vintage Kübelwagen arrives to collect you from the hotel. Stop in the town of Tabanan to explore the market and see how trade carries on just as it did in days gone by.

Stop 2

Your driver will then head up the slopes of Mount Batukaru, passing traditional Balinese villages along the way. In the town of Tambuwaras, you get the rare chance to explore a beautiful temple located at the edge of the rainforest and rarely visited by tourists. Nearby are the famous UNESCO-listed emerald rice terraces of Jatiluwih that cascade down the mountain side. Stop here to take in the stunning landscape and snap plenty of photos.

3

Carrying on to Desa Tegallinggah, there will be a stop for lunch in a local restaurant, offering breathtaking views over the surrounding rice fields.

4

Back in the car, continue to Desa Apuan, a local settlement of traditional Balinese compounds, where you will gain an insight into the philosophy and culture of this ancient community.
