Guests will be shown the traditional way of milking and why not to try milking a sheep if they wish.Visit the village of Polythea where we are invited by a local family to their house to taste all kinds of Crete mountain teas and botanes. We visit the family’s garden so called ‘bostani’ where guest will be taught how to plant vegetables, they will cut and taste and full up the baskets to prepare their lunch later. We start a 20 minutes stroll to the church of Saint Panteleimonas. We continue by coach to the village of Kato Karouzanos where guest will be introduced to the methods of producing the local spirit of raki, the honey, hand weaving etc. Prepare their meal.
Local cook will teach them how to prepare the local bread baked in the wood oven and taste as it is coming out of the oven. (The ones wishing to be thought cooking they will participate to prepare lunch under the supervision of our cook, meal and wine is offered while our Shepheard produces the cheese from the milk collected earlier called kefalotiri and mizithra. Guests participate to the procedure and help the Shepheard to prepare the cheese, They all taste as it is coming up from the cylinder). After meal guest will be taught how to make their own Greek coffee. There is time to visit a little shop selling all above local products.
