The famous Fairytale Castle NEUSCHWANSTEiN is one of the most popular landmarks of Germany. It captivates visitors from all over the world with its dreamy beauty, inspired by characters from Wagner's epic operas. You have the option to walk up to the castle, take the shuttle-bus (not during snow and ice) or the horse-drawn carriage --> details see "Additional Info". The guided tour in Neuschwanstein castle takes approx. 35 min, afterwards you'll walk for another 15 min through many more rooms by yourself. About the particularities of these rooms you will be well informed by your guide.

Queen Mary's bridge ("Marienbrücke") - THE TOP VIEWPOINT - built in 1866 by King Ludwig II - one of the most famous in the world! It can be easily reached by a shuttle bus (€ 4.00 p.p.) from the parking lot or on a nice 40-minute uphill hike. From the bridge you'll reach the castle entrance within a 20-minute walk downhill and pass one more magnificent viewpoint! PLEASE NOTE: For departures after 8 a.m., there may be waiting times for both the shuttle bus and access to the bridge! But not far away we can show you another spectacular viewpoint without waiting. In snow and ice, the bridge is not accessible and Neuschwanstein Castle can only be reached on foot or by horse-drawn hybrid carriage.

The 13th century Ehrenberg castle ruins are the centerpiece of one of the most important fortress complexes in Central Europe. It was once a mighty defense facility, administrative seat and customs station. An experiential museum bring visitors closer to the history of the area and its surrounding nature. The incredibly long pedestrian suspension bridge "Highline 179" spans the "Ehrenberg valley" at a dizzying altitude. With its stately 406 meters (1,332 ft) in length, it can officially be named the world's longest pedestrian bridge in the Tibet style. The crossing is also for children absolutely safe and offers spectacular views! If you dare to cross it, you will reach a spectacular view point and the baroque Fort Claudia after a 10 minutes walk.

A first-class attraction for young and old who are in the mood for an extra adrenaline kick!

Not so brave people can enjoy the view of this technical masterpiece and the surrounding mountains from numerous vantage points. There is no need to enter or cross the bridge at all!

The Top Liner is the 2nd section of the lift that takes you to the entrance of the suspension bridge. In just 3 minutes, it overcomes 190 meters in altitude (623 ft.) and takes you to the highest point in the Ehrenberg castle world, the Schlosskopf panoramic mountain with its 18th century fortifications. With its breathtaking french baroque design and famous Bavarian trick paintings it was King Ludwig II's favourite palace. Following the French model, Linderhof was the only one of the three "fairytale castles" to be completed.

OBERAMMERGAU - due to the Corona crisis, the world-famous Passion Play had to be postponed for the first time since WWII. The big event, which normally takes place at the full decade, had to be postponed until 2022.

On a guided tour of the village we will be happy to show you the Passion Play Theatre and its spectacular "Cabrio Stage" as well as the enchanting wall paintings. During a stroll through the historic center you can discover numerous shops offering souvenirs in a wide range, including the famous Oberammergau wood carvings.

Are you able to walk slightly uphill from the car park to Neuschwanstein castle (approx. 1,5 km/1mile in an hour's time)? (If not, the horse carriage or the Shuttle bus (not operating during snow and ice) must be used – anyway, an approx. 450 meters/0.28 miles uphill walk (up to 15 % slope) or an approx. 500 meters/0.31 miles downhill walk (up to 19 % gradient) from the respective terminal to the entrance of the castle have to be managed in any case!) Your guide can assist your group to make sure that you'll find your way. - In Neuschwanstein castle there are 346 stairs alltogether (up and down) to be managed.  If this is too much for you and if you have an appropriate medical certificate of disability or resstriction of mobility or similar (must be scanned and posted in advance), an exclusive lift service only for you with a maximum of one companion, accompanied by a castle-staff could be booked. The elevator service is without additional costs, but the number of  tours with that service is very limited and must be reconfirmed by the castle authorities. PLEASE NOTE: If you may need the lift service please inform us IMMEDIATELY after your booking! - To Hohenschwangau castle there is a carriage service (not in winter season) almost from door-to-door. You have to climb stairs up to the 3rd floor and back (no elevator).
