Takachiho Shrine is famous for the god of marriage. Couples and friends hold hands and make three laps around the Meotosugi cedar tree.

Amano Iwato Shrine is an Iwato Valley suitable for the land where the gods descended from heaven. In this secluded area, the main shrine and the Gozaishi stone, where the gods are said to have sat, are enshrined.

To avoid disappointment, we highly recommend booking your Takachiho Gorge boat trip at least two weeks in advance. It can be very difficult to secure a spot at the last minute, especially during the busy high season.
