The family tour of the Saalfeld Fairy Grottoes is specially designed for families with children and offers an exciting, understandable and varied introduction to the fascinating underground world of the show mine. The focus here is on wonder, discovery and shared experience.

During the approximately one-hour guided tour, children and adults are addressed equally. The guide explains the origins of the fairy grottoes, their bright colors and the history of the mine in a vivid and age-appropriate way. Stories, simple explanations and exciting details ensure that even younger visitors stay alert and follow with enthusiasm.

The guided tour runs at a quiet pace and is designed to give families enough time to explore the impressive passages and grottoes. The constant temperature underground ensures a pleasant experience all year round – regardless of the weather.

After the guided tour, admission to the Grottoneum Adventure Museum is already included. There, children can playfully experiment, discover and deepen their knowledge, while adults get further exciting backgrounds on the region's natural and mining history.
