About this experience
A guided tour to learn about special charcoals that used for Japanese tea ceremony. This tour take a place named Ishidadami, a beautiful SATOYAMA in Uchiko Town.
First, drive to a charcoal kiln to meet a charcoal maker and learn about how he makes charcoals and how it affects to the sustainable life in mountain area. Then, visit Yuge shrine, the symbol of Ishidatami district. There is a big pond in front of the shrine, and you get walk on a beautiful bridge with roof to visit the shine.
Then move to Seiryu-en Park to have relax time with some localy grinded coffee and local made bread toasted by charcoal fire. You get to see the charcoal in use and chat with the charcoal maker.
You get to see deep and real Japan in a quiet mountain village and enjoy a chill time.
